My Redeemer

When things don’t seem to go the way I want, I have a tendency to whine or complain. I’ve been trying to change this habit but it’s a slow process. One thing that has definitely helped is looking at other people who have great attitudes despite circumstances.

In chapter 19, Job laid out his situation- loathsome to his family, detestable to friends, and counted as an enemy by God. On and on for 24 verses…

Then we see an attitude change as Job boldly declares-

“I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes- I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me.” Job 19: 25-27

Lyrics to several songs have pulled inspiration from this verse. I, too, find inspiration to face circumstances with a better attitude and less complaining.

Lord Jesus, You are my Redeemer! What joy fills my heart at the truth that I will one day see you with my own eyes! Everything else, even the struggles, pale in comparison. O how my heart yearns within me to see your face, my sweet Jesus. Amen!
